Safety is of paramount importance in kitesurfing. Without the correct precautions and procedures a kiter puts his own life and that of others at risk. Although we cannot emphasise enough the importance of lessons from a qualified instructor when starting out in kiting, we have put together some guidelines and techniques as a point of reference for beginners and improvers alike.

Insurance
An important item for to ensure that both yourself and others are covered should something happen. There are many sports insurance to choose from these days, sportscoverdirect have been recommended by some of our members to give you an idea what is involved, and there is a discount to IKSA members.

here we have some of the instructors involved

Priority Rules
These rules apply to all kitesurfers whether they are on land or water. Their purpose is not to take the fun or spontaneity out of kitesurfing but to ensure that everyone can have a good time responsibly and safely. They are to kitesurfing what the rules of the road are to driving and they eliminate confusion and can help prevent incidents.
